Woody

New Toy Story is a musical film based on the Disney/Pixar's Toy Story franchise and was a Broadway musical which made its world premiere at Broadway with previews beginning September 2, 2020 at the movie theater and September 11, 2020 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.[1] It was co-directed by Steven Spielberg, and it was made from the music and lyrics by Michael Giacchino and Randy Newman.

Story

The movie is set two years after the events of "Toy Story 4" and features a visibly newer Woody in his black and white tuxedo outfit and his new year against a world filled with new developments. The official synopsis follows:

Woody, now wearing a black and white tuxedo, thinks his time defending New York is over. But when a new threat comes to New York, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang face their biggest challenge yet! How can a Broadway musical have places in New York, London, Tokyo and Australian at once?

Plot

Act I

After a "Prologue", or an introduction from Bonnie's voiceover telling the story of Woody, and how he was played with by Andy Davis with his new toys, it shows Ducky and Bunny to announce to all toys in the entire new world that Sheriff Woody (now wearing a black and white tuxedo) is finally ready to fulfill his role as a new leader: a hybrid vintage cowboy toy to take his rightful place on his own. So Woody greets all the other toys and other colonies through a broadcast, announcing that he already has a rightful place where he lives with his friends. As he's done having them all new owners and being played with, he can't wait to spend time with his new toys. However, after the broadcast, Ducky and Bunny persuade him to stay, but he kindly turns down the offer. Back in Bonnie's room, Buzz welcomes Woody back and asked what took him so long. Woody felt so tired and embarrassed that the Mutant Toys wanted him to rule with attention 24/7. Buzz asks Woody if he'll be sitting around a campfire with Bonnie making delicious, hot schmoes. Woody felt so anxious that he wants to say it's pronounced "smores". Rex and Hamm arrive in a peaceful day if Woody and Buzz think someone's playing tonight. Rex thinks of himself that he wants to be Partysaurus Rex and Woody said that they throw a modern section of the evening with lights of Broadway. Buzz is modern that he'll say lights of "toy-way". All the toys were excited that Woody can sing "The Broadway Melody Ballet". Woody goes on stage tap-dancing with the toys celebrating their newfound yet. Mr. Potato Head starts dancing and sees Mrs. Potato Head with his hat. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head start dancing real smooth as Mr. Pricklepants, Buttercup and the Little Green Men see Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. Jessie and Bullseye then give Woody a invitation for a dance. Jessie gave Woody and Buzz a dance as they do a Spanish dance as she joins with them. Forky sees Karen Beverly (also known as Knifey) so starstruck. Forky and Karen Beverly hold hands and float with each other in the colorful air with the wind. They float down into the ground as Forky smiles to Karen Beverly while the toys applaud to them. Woody is starstruck as Buzz snaps his fingers to him and tap-dances with Woody and all the toys. The toys make a final scene of "The Broadway Melody Ballet". All the toys freeze as Bonnie stops by to her house and see her toys and starts playing with them.

At this morning in Bonnie's room, the toys intend to greet their newest friends, Flik, Princess Atta and Dot where they came from. They asked the toys to enjoy them to a wonderful start, but at this point, Buzz tells Flik, Atta and Dot that he wants to activate his wings and fly. Once Buzz stops flying, the toys cheer except Woody as he thinks they're going to New York in the RV. In this point, Woody and Buzz are in the RV sitting there while talking to each other, but all the toys came along in the RV. As the toys were in the RV, Atta starts singing "I Got Rhythm" when the toys are watching. Then the toys are dancing in the RV, just as the Nutcracker Soldiers march in and tap dance with the toys. Then they made it to New York, but Woody thinks his mind is not coming properly.

At the hotel room, Woody wakes up and sees Flik and Dot. They were certain, however, his prediction is right, as Buzz did regenerate his body, but obtained his primary clothing from his first formation. Then, the Barbie dolls were covered in 1955 when they regenerate as they sing "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" In addition, their memories have been erased; with Buzz assuming that he is Woody's servant. Even Mrs. Teapotts, Captain Redbeard The Pirate, Perry, Blossom and Rose Burkkins came in for a surprise and entertain their "best friend" (Woody). Woody and the new toys seek advice from Ducky and Bunny.
